got a cold mind to go tripping across that thin line
In the basement, huntin‘ gun and a hacksaw / Sip a beer, and thirteen inches of barrel drop to the floor / Come home in the evening, can’t get the smell from my hands / Lay my head down on the pillow / And, go driftin‘ off into foreign lands (Bruce Springsteen)

And then those foreign lands became familiar lands, unknown, unfamiliar, but home now, nonetheless. And at the corner of your eye, you see, you see her waiting, waving you home, but always out of reach, as always…
Busted sunsets, broken horizons, lying in wait. Tunes our only guide,
my brother.

And of these cut-throat busted sunsets,
these cold and damp white mornings
I have grown weary
If through my cracked and dusted dime-store lips
I spoke these words out loud would no one hear me?
Licht und Schatten
Verfolgt vom Pech und von Pannen,
gezeichnet mit tausend Schrammen.
Die irgendwann wieder verheilen,
wenn die Stürme des Lebens enteilen.
Beschenkt auch mit Glücksmomenten,
die wahrlich nicht schöner sein könnten.
Die tief drin im Herzen wohnen,
reich für jede Mühe entlohnen.
Drum sei dir stets recht bemessen,
dein Behalten und dein Vergessen.
Sei gewiss, am Ende der Tage,
halten sich Licht und Schatten die Waage.

Lieber Florian,
Walter
In that unlikely cityscape, appears in the center a lamp post, with its shining light like a stationary star offering to the wanderer an unlikely direction. Some of our ancestors have followed one kind of fixed star and have landed on the shorelines of American islands. For the best and for the worst. But what could we do but going forward? Let’s go, my dear friend!
Yes, I agree completely with Francis J, let’s go forward, let’s go and kick the world’s ass! Man, I feel invigorated…
I meant to ask you brother, do you maybe have an email address…
The roadway to some vague destination bisected by a street lamp–one of many, really–that seems to be the only point of definite orientation. But then, how many of those do we really need when just one will do. The problem is finding the right one.
The photo is great. I love the geometry!
Perfect composition.
Nicely explored lines here. Like the lowly cyclops peering back at the viewer.
All the best to you and yours in 2012!
I’d love to see the photographs from this serie all printed large and hung around a wall
Love the graphic composition..the black and white. Wishing you a happy and creative new year!
great perspective and tones
ay – another great shot, and another great song selection – Springsteen’s bedrock – the foundation!
got a cold mind to go trippin‘ across that thin line! that’s photo poetry, mate!
keep ‚em coming!
Vivas!
Klar und aufrecht. Da leuchtet ja, das Licht, das wir auch im kommenden Jahr brauchen werden.
Trying to find a way through life.
Danke für deine wunderbaren Bild-Text-Collagen und für den Gedankenraum, den du dadurch schaffst. Alles Gute fürs neue Jahr!
lgk
I feel connected to this lonely light. Even though it is technology, it provides brightness and the sober darkness of its surroundings.
Best wishes, Fritsch!
this kinda minimalistic style is my cup of tea. good one Fritsch! happy new year!
Two lines, a street light and a gorgeous composition: a master piece of minimalism! Great one!
Have a nice day.
Brilliant, superb!
magnifique graphisme.
Lay my head down on the pillow / And, go driftin’ off into foreign lands
wohlan, solange die träume nicht abgeschabt sind, lass uns träumen. und leben, das ist die kunst.
As brilliant as it can get – Liking the way you SEE, very clever… „Chic Thrills“ how COOL is that (HA!).
