Die Frau, vertieft in ihre Arbeit, den Fotografen vor sich, dies wohl auch wissend, aber nicht weiter beachtend; der Mann im Spiegel, der nicht sich, sondern den Fotografen anzusehen scheint. Was für ein Spiel der Spiegelungen, der fixierenden und der gesenkten Blicke.
Großartige Alltagsszene, banal und komplex in einem.
Und was für ein „Depot“ mit Alkoholika!

PS Randers hat ein Kunstmuseum. Darin u.a. Bilder von V. Hammershoi. Falls Du Zeit hast, besuche es. Hammershoi wird Dir gefallen. Man könnte ihn mit aller gebotenen Vorsicht als eine skandinavische Variante von Edward Hopper nennen.

Ich bin mir nicht sicher, aber ich glaube seine alkoholgeschwängerten, stillen Blicke galten der Barkeeperin. In jedem Fall war es ein wunderbares Eintauchen in mittsommerliche Halbdunkelheiten. Ein Faszinosum.

It’s a dark mix and I’m not sure I would feel too secure in any of it, but being there is too delicious to make me run away. What a jewel, Florian!
These moments when we don’t feel secure & there’s no escape from the darkness are those very special moments. I went in for just one last beer & stayed until it closed. Caught in the moment & couldn’t get out because it felt so good. Thanks, Phil.

This image… I could only say „This image“ because it’s talking so much about this place where drinkers use to go alone or meet. And we can imagine the stories they’re thinking of or sharing (rarely). Mainly sad stories, because that’s part of our mythology. But sometimes funny too.
And a great framing, Florian, with this man reflecting close to the centre of the image. Which probably means close to you!
